Hands-on with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+; Galaxy S8+ size comparison vs iPhone 7 Plus

Shortly after the conclusion of Samsung's Unpacked event yesterday, I had a little bit of time with the newly announced Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+. I did not get a chance to go through every little thing on the new devices, but I definitely got a good feel for them both. The first thing that popped into my head when I first saw the phones in person was, "wow." I truly believe these are the best designed smartphones. Ever. Obviously, the first thing that you notice is the new infinity display. It is a thing of beauty. It's so crisp, clear and vibrant. By default, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ comes out of the box with a FHD+ resolution. I adjusted the resolution settings and turned it up

Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are now official

Samsung's Unpacked event was well done and visually stunning. The stars of the event did not disappoint either. The wraps have officially been taken off and the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been revealed to the world. All of the leaks and rumors were spot on for the most part so the devices were not exactly a surprise. Regardless, the phones are simply the best designed smartphones ever created. The rest of it? Well, let's just say that this has become the phone to beat in 2017. DISPLAY AND PROCESSOR GALAXY S8 - There are a lot of similarities between both handsets, but one difference is obviously the size. The Galaxy S8 weighs in at a minuscule 155 g and its dimensions are 148.9 x

Leaked renders reveal three Galaxy S8 colors

Leakster Evan Blass is at it again. This time with leaked renders that reveal the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in three different colors: Black Sky, Orchid Grey and Arctic Silver. These colors, along with a possible purple model, are expected to be announced at the Samsung Unpacked event on March 29th. Both variants are expected to be released sometime in late April. Evan Blass indicated that the top row of phones are the Galaxy S8, with the bottom row being the larger sibling, the Galaxy S8+. The most recent rumored specs indicate that the Galaxy S8 will have a 5. 8-inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2960. The Galaxy S8+ will have a massive 6.2-inch display. Both handsets wil

Samsung Galaxy S8 to come in Purple?

This was certainly out of left field, but it appears Samsung may be launching their upcoming flagship in the color purple. Four new pictures were leaked by @kksneakleaks on Twitter, which reveal the handset in the standout color. According to a leaked photos and a press render, it seems that the Korean tech giant will release the Galaxy S8 in Silver, Black, and now Purple. Additionally, with the success of the Blue Coral color on the Galaxy S7 edge and the failed Galaxy Note 7, it would not be surprising to see this also be one of the color models. Leaks seem to be coming out in droves with only ten days left until the device is officially announced. With that said, leaks tend to be more rel

First Thoughts: LG G6

Earlier today, I was able to preview the platinum colored model of the upcoming LG G6 ahead of its release and what a beautifully designed smartphone it is. Upon first look, the device looks small. It's hard to believe that this device has a large 5.7-inch display. Even with its large display, the device is surprisingly lightweight. For me, this is the first time an LG smartphone felt like a premium handset. I put the LG G6 next to an LG V20 to compare device size. It's still a bit of a shock to me that both phones have the same screen size (if you do not count the secondary screen on the LG V20), but the LG G6 just looks so much smaller. LG made single-handed use on a big screened phone inc

LG G6 is official

No more rumors, speculation or leaks. The LG G6 is official. A little over a week ago, LG officially took the wraps off of its new flagship. A completely refreshed flagship that looks nothing like its predecessor. LG ditched the modular aspect and created a gorgeous smartphone with some powerful internals, but can it compete with the likes of Google, Samsung, and Apple? DISPLAY AND PROCESSOR One of the biggest changes to this newest edition of LG's G-series is its screen-to-body ratio. Combine a massive 5.7-inch always-on IPS LCD display with minuscule bezels and you get a screen-to-body ratio of 80 percent. The LG G6 is the first phone to open up the new age of the dying bezels. With a QHD

Press render of Galaxy S8 leaked

Evan Blass (@evleaks) of VentureBeat strikes again, this time with a press render of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8. Over the years, Evan has been spot on with his leaks so you can be fairly certain that this is what the Galaxy S8 will look like. He also leaked out the first live photo and key details of the device. From the picture, you can see that this is a very tall device. This picture confirms that the traditional home button has been removed and that the front of the device is practically all screen. There appears to be two buttons on the left side and one on the right. On the left, the top button is the volume control and on the bottom is the dedicated Bixby AI button. On the right s
