Thanks to the folks over at Android Authority, we now have light on the release date for LG's upcoming smartphone, the LG V30. The handset, which is scheduled to be announced on August 31st at their IFA press conference in Berlin, is expected to be released on September 15th in Korea. For the US, the device is expected to be made available for pre-order starting on September 17th and then released on September 28th. This information, made available by Android Authority, comes from a leaked LG internal document going by the codename JOAN. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 unveiling is set for August 23rd in New York City and a Samsung executive publicly said the device will be launched, in waves, starting in early September. Now, we may actually have a pre-order date. This time, the tipster is indicating that Samsung will release a different, more expensive variant of the highly anticipated Galaxy Note 8. Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Emperor Edition, this variant is expected to have 6GB of RAM and come with up to 256GB of internal storage. Lenovo is at it again. For a second straight year, the Chinese technology company put their unreleased foldable technology on display. A video on YouTube, by MSPoweruser, shows off a foldable tablet in action. The user is shown bending the tablet in half, operating the camera, and unfolding the device back to its full size. Renders of the upcoming LG V30 were just recently leaked out by Ringke, a company that makes smartphone cases. The leaked image, courtesy of serial leakers on Twitter known as Slashleaks, shows off the back of three models of the handset. In the image, three LG V30 smartphones are displayed in cases. One case is all clear and the other two have a clear back with a rose gold or black trim. Out of the three phones, only two colored models are shown: a gold and a black variation. Confirmed: Samsung to announce Galaxy Note 8 in August and release in September

As expected, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 8 in late August, the company has officially confirmed. Gao Dongzhen, Samsung's President of Mobile Communications, confirmed the announcement at a event in Taiwan. Additionally, Dongzhen said the company will release the phablet in two waves starting in September. Certain countries, such as the United States, will be in the first wave to get the device and others will be in the second. The leaks are starting to pour in as we inch closer to August and the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. A few days ago, the folks over at Android Police released an exclusive photo allegedly showing off the second generation Google Pixel XL. According to Android Police, the 2017 Google Pixel XL will feature a 6-inch display with a 2:1 aspect ratio and extremely thin bezels. It looks like a cross between the LG G6 and a Samsung Galaxy S8. On the back of the device, there's a glass plate that's a bit shorter than the one found on its predecessor.
