Apple releases two new videos that take shots at the Google Play Store; are they feeling the heat?

Today, in an uncharacteristic move, Apple released two short video clips that seem to take a shot at the Google Play Store while trying to convince consumers to switch to iPhone. Apple usually does not release short ads that bash the competition in favor of their devices. They normally just highlight their own device features in an attempt to entice consumers to buy their product. This tells me that they're feeling the heat. The videos do not specifically call out the Google Play Store, but what other app store out there is a big threat to Apple? Certainly not Amazon and most definitely not Windows. Currently, the Google Play Store has the most apps out of any mobile app store. In the first

On the bottom of the handset, we see speakers, a USB-C charging port, and thankfully a 3.5mm headphone jack

Android P = Android Popsicle?

Google might have dropped a big hint at what their next version of Android will be called. Recently, Google shared a set of spring wallpapers on their Instagram story for users who are looking to add a spring theme to their handsets. The search giant released a half dozen wallpapers, but it was one that really stood out. One of the wallpapers shared was that of popsicles in bright colors. Google is known to name their new versions of Android after dessert treats, so after seeing that image, it's not far-fetched to think of the image being a giant hint. We will know the official name of Android P next month at Google I/O in California. The event beings on May 8th and lasts through May 10th. I

Leak shows new navigation bar in Android P

It looks like there will be something different about the navigation bar in Android P. In a Android Developers blog post discussing network security improvements, Google briefly slipped up and exposed the new layout in a screenshot. Since then, Google has cropped the navigation bar out, but not before the original image was captured. According to the screenshot, it appears that the virtual home button will take the shape of a small pill, instead of a circle that we've been accustomed to. The triangular back button remains, though, 9to5Google states that the back button will auto-hide when not in use. In addition, the back button will not appear on the home screen due to it having no function

The images show the unsightly notch on the front, a centralized dual-camera configuration on the rear with LED flash directly underneath it, and a fingerprint scanner immediately below that. S

We are a few short months away from a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 announcement, so let the rumors and leaks commence! As always, take rumors and leaks with a pinch of salt, especially this far out. Yesterday, two rumors emerged that point to the Galaxy Note 9 having a 6.4-inch display and a large 4,000 mAh battery capacity. The display rumor comes from a Twitter user (@MMDDJ_) who cites Weibo, a popular Chinese blog loaded with smartphone news, as the source. These rumors certainly raise some eyebrows in regards to speculation that the Note 9 may come with an
