Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL leaked in new renders

Today, newly leaked 5K CAD-based (computer assisted design) renders and two 360-degree videos show off Google's upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL flagship smartphones. The leaked renders and videos confirm just about everything we've heard about regarding the handsets. Unfortunately, the Pixel 3 XL will sport the controversial notch display. It will have a 6.2-inch screen and possibly a 19:9 aspect ratio. According to Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks on Twitter) and MySmartPrice, the Pixel 3 XL will measure 158 x 76.6 x 7.9mm. Moving right on to the smaller sibling, the Pixel 3 will not sport the notch. Instead, it will have slimmed down top and bottom bezels and a 5.3-inch display with an 18:9 a

LG V40 to have a ridiculous 5 cameras

News broke yesterday that LG is in fact working on the V40, which is a successor to the popular V30 handset. The company looks to go all out and jump on growing trends with their next V-series phone. According to the folks over at AndroidPolice, the upcoming LG V40 will have a notch design and 5 cameras. That is not a typo. 5 cameras. Similar to the Huawei P20 Pro, the V40 will have three cameras on the rear. In addition, it will have a pair of shooters on the front. It is not exactly known what the purpose of all the cameras are, but AndroidPolice states that the rear cameras will include a standard wide-angle lens, an ultra-wide lens, and a third shooter that may be dedicated to handle por

If the Pixel 3 XL looks like this, sign me up

Since Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL leaks have been popping up, people began creating concepts on what the final product may look like when Google takes the wraps off later this year. Two days ago, a Twitter user released an eye-opening concept of the Pixel 3 XL. Phone Designer (@PhoneDesigner on twitter) showed off possible color variants of the upcoming smartphone. There have been no confirmed colors at this point, so the design artist basically took last year's colors and created the renders. The colors in the image above are Kinda Blue, Black and White, and Just Black. Personally, minus the notch, I think the device looks absolutely amazing (I'm looking at you, Panda). The handset does resemble

The Vivo NEX brings industry firsts to a smartphone; ridiculous screen-to-body ratio and pop up came

Earlier today, smartphone maker Vivo introduced their new groundbreaking smartphone called the Vivo NEX. With their latest handset, the company is bringing a few industry firsts that other OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) need to take some notes on. The smartphone industry has been obsessed with creating more screen real-estate for consumers by forcing a notch design, but Vivo has done it the best by going almost completely bezel-free (it has a thin chin at bottom) while avoiding the notch with the NEX. DIMENSIONS, DISPLAY, PROCESSOR The Vivo NEX is easily the best designed smartphone in existence at the moment. It has dimensions of 162 x 77 x 7.98mm and weighs in at 199g. Vivo gave t

Active Edge (squeeze feature) will be on Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL

A few days ago, the folks over at XDA-Developers reported that Active Edge (the squeeze feature found on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL) will be making a return with Google's new flagship devices. The feature enables users to interact with the device by squeezing the frame. For instance, squeezing the frame to launch the Google Assistant. This feature was first debuted on HTC devices and is called Edge Sense. Under HTC, the feature could do a bit more than what can be done with the Pixel. For example, you can short squeeze to launch the camera app or to take a screenshot, and more. With the Pixel, all you were able to do with the Active Edge feature is squeeze to launch the Google Assistant (unl

First look at the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in leaked renders and 360-video

A few days ago, we told you that there were leaked out images of screen protectors that revealed the design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Yesterday, reliable leakster @OnLeaks in collaboration with 91Mobiles, treated the world to new CAD (computer-aided design) renders and a 360-video that shows off the phablet in all of it's glory. The renders show a familiar design to last year's Galaxy Note8. Returning is the Infinity Display (no notch!!) with thin top and bottom bezels. Volume controls and a power button occupy the left side of the device, while the dedicated Bixby button resides on the right. The beloved headphone jack looks to be a mainstay as well. The only difference is the

First images of Pixel 3 XL leak; shows some specs

First it was the leaked screen protectors, then it was information about the screen sizes. Now, courtesy of Slaskleaks, we have our first real look at Google's upcoming Pixel 3 XL. For some, myself included, our worst notchmare (nightmare, you get it) looks to be coming true. It will indeed sport the dreaded notch. Today, Slashleaks leaked out two images of the highly anticipated handset. The first (above), shows the front of the device that confirms a notch design with dual front-facing cameras and a chin (bottom bezel). With the second image (below), we see a familiar design that looks nearly identical to the Pixel 2 XL. There is a single camera on the top left corner with LED flash and a

Moto Z3 Play announced; slim profile with some new camera features

Today, Motorola has officially announced their first 'Z' line device of 2018 -- the Moto Z3 Play. The new device will be the successor to their successful Moto Z2 Play smartphone and will offer a quality mid-range device to consumers at a friendly price point. DIMENSIONS, DISPLAY, PROCESSOR The new Moto Z3 Play is easily the best designed 'Play' model device in the series. Motorola trimmed down the bezels and completely removed the front physical home button. In place of the old home button, there is a thin bezel with 'Motorola' plastered on it. Trimming down the bezels allowed them to fit a 6.01-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display (2160 x 1080 resolution) with a 18:9 aspect ratio and a 79% s

Official Moto Z3 render leaked; identical to Moto Z3 Play

Early last month, the Moto Z3 Play and all of it's glory were leaked out in a render and now an official render of the Moto Z3 has found it's way out. The phones look shockingly identical to each other. There really looks to be no key differences between the two handsets except for the internals. According to AndroidHeadlines, a reliable source gave them assurance that the phone in this render is indeed the Moto Z3. Apparently, Motorola is launching two phones in the Moto Z3 line this year -- the Moto Z3 and the Moto Z3 Play. It appears like there will be no Force model this time around. There is no mention of what specs to expect, but since the Moto Z3 will be the premium option, there's a

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL screen sizes revealed

It appears that Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL screen protector leak has opened the flood gates and now rumors are starting to run wild. Since the screen protector leak, people started creating their own renders of what the upcoming flagships will look like, rumblings of a mid-range Pixel device surfaced, and now we're hearing screen sizes. Serial leaker, Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks on Twitter), cited that sources gave him information on the screen sizes for the upcoming Pixel handsets. The leakster states the Pixel 3 will sport a 5.3-inch display with no notch, but the Pixel 3 XL will have a larger 6.2-inch screen that unfortunately has a notch. As always with leaks, take it with a grain of salt,

Galaxy Note 9 screen protector leak reveals design; unveiling coming August 9th

Reliable tipster, Ice Universe on Twitter, recently leaked out images that allegedly shows two screen protectors for the unannounced Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The good news is, there is no notch. The bad news, well, it looks like that Galaxy Note 9 won't have a drastically different design that it's predecessor. The tipster has a pretty solid track record with Samsung leaks and has more or less been spot on. According to the image, it appears the Galaxy Note 9 will have slightly thinner bezels than the Galaxy Note8. There are changes according to one of the screen protectors though, as it seems that the sensors at the top of the device are a bit larger with a little more space seen between the

Brief hands-on experience with the gorgeous HTC U12+

The other night, I attended the HTC Meet U pop up event in New York City to check out the upcoming HTC U12+ and came away pretty impressed with the company's latest offering. Obviously, playing with the device only for a few minutes doesn't tell the whole story, but can give you some first impressions. The one thing that really stood out to me was the design. The HTC U12+ is simply stunning, especially in the new translucent blue color. They avoided the ugly notch trend and kept the bezels slim. Not only does it have a premium look, it also feels that way in hand. It really is just a sharp looking device that also looks unique. As with all 2018 handsets, the device was extremely smooth.
