Android O is now officially Android Oreo

As predicted quite some time ago, Google has officially named Android Oreo as their next version of Android OS. This news comes a week after leaker Evan Blass confirmed that Google would release the new OS on August 21st, which was spot on.

Previously known as Android O, Android Oreo will bring some useful new features that will enhance the user experience. These features include: notification dots, picture-in-picture, instant apps, smart text select, and enhanced auto-fill.

Being pure Android handsets, expect the Google Pixel and Pixel XL to be the first to receive the Android Oreo update. This new software update should start rolling out over the next few days.
