Samsung Officially Cancels Galaxy Note 7

It's been a few weeks since Samsung started shipping replacements for the Note 7. For some carriers, it's been only a few days since they started reselling the Note 7. Today however, Samsung has officially pulled the plug on their troubled phablet. According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung announced that they have ended production and have stopped sales of their Galaxy Note 7. This happens after a second round of fires started to happen to "safe" devices that were shipped after the initial recall of 2.5 million devices.

"Taking our customer's safety as our highest priority, we have decided to halt sales and production of the Galaxy Note 7," the Korean tech giant said. The Galaxy Note 7 was released on August 19th, was recalled on September 2nd and canceled on October 11th. It is also reported that this whole fiasco has cost Samsung $17 billion of their market value.

This is extremely disappointing for Samsung and fans of the Note series. Hopefully this is not the last we see of the Note series and we fully expect Samsung to bounce back with their next device. For now, power down your device and contact your carrier regarding a refund or exchange to another device.

In the end, they did the right move.
