With smartphones seemingly increasing in price every year, it was only a matter of time before insurance also went up. Yesterday, Verizon Wireless announced that they will be increasing the price of their Total Mobile Protection plan from $11 to $13 per month. This change will begin January 25th for new customers and March 6th for existing customers.
Despite increasing the monthly cost, big red is lowering device replacement deductibles to $89 on more than 150 models. It remains to be seen if this is includes high-end devices that usually carry a deductible of $199.
Nothing else is changing to Total Mobile Protection. Customers can still get a next day replacement (up to 3 replacements a year), over the phone tech support (Tech Coach), and an extended manufacturers warranty.
