Android Pay and Google Wallet merge to become Google Pay
Google is "bringing it all together," by merging their payment entities, which include Android Pay and Google Wallet, into one. Say hello to Google Pay! Google Pay will work across all Google products. For example, making web purchases through Chrome, app and in-app purchases on Google Play, and renewing your YouTube Red subscription.
According to Pali Bhat, VP of Product Management at Google, the payment system is already available on several apps and websites such as Airbnb, Dice, Fandango, HungryHouse, and Instacart.
It makes a ton of sense for Google to combine everything into one. It will make things more convenient for users to use one app for everything instead of different ones for a specific use. This move was long overdue, but it's finally happening.
